My Journey
My name is Rustum Ishmail, and I’ve been trading the markets for many years.
I started my career in traditional finance — working in banks in South Africa, London, and Switzerland — before moving into professional online trading.
For a long time, I traded using leverage and margin, chasing fast profits in markets that weren’t always aligned with Islamic principles. But over time, I realised that success means nothing if it comes at the cost of your values.
After researching Islamic finance and speaking with scholars, I decided to rebuild everything from the ground up — a trading method that follows halal principles, avoids riba, and focuses on real value creation.
That journey led to the birth of Pure Trading.
